The aim at Get In Step Podiatry is to improve the mobility, independence and general quality of life of our patients.

Who We Treat

Get In Step Podiatry treats patients of all ages from 18 months old to 90+ years at both clinics;  Ballymena. We treat patients with foot, heel and ankle pain to pains in your shin, calf, hamstrings, knee, hips and back.

We also facilitate routine chiropody foot problems such as ingrown toe nails, corns, hard skin, fungal nails and verrucae.

In some cases, patients will seek preventative treatment for these complaints with the aim of improving sporting performance and reducing the risk of injuries and pain in the future.

Dr Elaine Hoey

Dr Elaine Hoey is a specialist in Gait Analysis and Biomechanics. This involves observing how certain joints and muscles function when walking and/or running and if this is contributing to foot/lower limb or back pain; a current injury or potentially be the cause of an injury in future.

All patients are assessed walking, standing and if applicable running by the podiatrist to visualize their individual gait / running pattern. Head to toe analysis is key to podiatry.

3D Gyroscope Analysis

At Get In Step Podiatry, we used a computerised 3D gyroscope analysis to measure the 3 dimensional movement of the hips when walking and/or running and provides a valuable insight into core stability and posture. Hip and feet movements are analysed together and a comprehensive analysis of footwear is routinely provided.
